How to get back access to the High Sierra GUI? I assume that you read this topic because you already got into trouble and doesn't know how to solve your problem with NVIDIA web drivers. If you upgraded from Sierra and have updated Sierra several times you might scratch your head, what has happened now, why previous methods doesn't work.

So your next step is to install NVIDIA Web drivers and instead of having nice and smooth picture you got black screen or infinite reboot loop. You have installed High Sierra on your comp or upgraded Sierra into High Sierra and everything looks nice expect you month have proper graphics with your NVIDIA graphics card. I am now about to repeat this one last time only trying to install mavericks, but otherwise I have no option and am running out of time.Building a CustoMac Hackintosh: Buyer's Guide

Left it overnight and it is stuck at the full progress bar. I then decided to try and install El Capitan, so I erased her harddrive again via target disk mode and disk utility and created a bootable drive for El Capitan. I left it for hours with nothing happening. I try to install, and I once again get the white apple logo and progress bar which gets to the end but never finishes. (I used a 16gb flashdrive for this) I then boot up her mac and hold option and I find the orange drive logo with the option to install Sierra. I then access her macbook hdd via my macbook using target disk mode and disk utility.Īfter this I erase her harddrive in disk utility, and create a bootable drive for Sierra. I put her mac in target disc mode and was able to recover her important files before erasing her harddrive (we didn't have an external hdd for her for time machine yet, so I just grabbed her important files and put them on my mac). After all of this I decided to wipe everything and do a clean reinstall of Sierra. I was thinking it might have to do with kext files, but I am unable to access terminal (only single user mode, but am not as comfortable using it) so I had no way of removing kernel extensions that may have conflicted with her OS. When the progress bar finishes it goes back to the apple logo and progress bar, which get to the end and just sits there for hours. I tried internet recovery (all I can access is internet recovery, single user mode, and verbose mode).when I do internet recovery I get the white globe and progress bar, with a black background. I also cannot access any utilities during this time (disc management, etc). I tried reseting the nvram, smc, and spent hours yesterday trying to find a way to boot it.
The bar got to the end but sat all day and night and wouldn't finish. When it rebooted I got a black screen with the white apple logo and a progress bar. It all started 3 days ago, I soft reset my macbook just to refresh everything, I do this now and then. She needs her macbook for class tomorrow and we are quite stressed out and could really use some help!
Couldn't get an appointment at the Genius bar because it was a filled up all weekend. So my fiancée's Macbook pro (2016 - 13 inch retina - running Sierra) will not boot, and I have exhausted about every option. I'm sorry this is long but I really need, help, I just want to explain everything in as much detail as I !!
